We didn’t set out to do headshots, but we got a few good shots of dad while I was checking my lights before photographing his new baby boy with the family.

Colin Lee, the DFL endorsed candidate in Lakeville’s for State Representative, contacted me recently looking to get some headshots for his upcoming campaign. We discussed a few options to get a natural background as well as a photo incorporating a recognizable local landmark and decided to use Antler’s Park and the Lakeville Arts Center. Here are a couple of images from this afternoon’s shoot.

The friendliness of a stranger who would give you their umbrella in the rain (on both trips I’ve taken to Japan), the chaos of thousands of people passing through Shibuya Crossing every minute, toilets with more controls than a small airplane, sushi, saki, okonomiyaki, the subtleties of saying no without saying no, miles of orange gates at Inari Shrine, unbelievable hospitality…. There is really nothing like Japan. Every minute was a new experience. I could have spent my entire week just walking around with my camera and meeting new people.
