Blade

Blade is about as hyper as dogs get, good things I had treats to bribe him for this shot.  But of course, I was wearing cargo shorts and sitting on the floor, so when they started spilling out of my pocket, he went crazy!

You wouldn’t guess it by looking at this image, but this was just shot looking down at Blade on a wood floor.  I over-exposed quite a bit (which is easier with Blade’s dark fur) and this is pretty much the result right out of the camera.  Actually, this “session” looked like this: head to San Francisco for a friend’s wedding, stop by friend’s place to pick up a ball to throw around at the park Sunday after the wedding and shot Blade while waiting/hanging out at my friend’s place for a few minutes, enjoy a beautiful sunny California day, get on the red-eye flight home at 12:40AM, sit next to a woman with a baby and a small bladder on the plane, get about 1 hour of sleep, drive home at 6:30, put the card in computer to download the images while showering, get out of shower and spend roughly 3 minutes reviewing the images to select this one and convert to black and white, drive in to work for 8AM meeting.  Just goes to show that you don’t need a lot of fancy gear or a lot of time to make interesting images (but you might need a few dog treats).

Hilda - Hiya, Blade!
I love how his nose is all fuzzy for being so near.
Though that day sounds absolutely awful to me. One hour is just a nap!
