Watching 1600 people jump into 32F water beneath feet of ice makes you appreciate being on the camera end of that deal. Participants included firemen, policemen, Goldy (the U of MN mascot), and every fun costume imaginable. You can learn a lot by watching someone jump into the frozen depths of Lake Calhoun. Some people laugh uncontrollably, some race for the exits even if it means ditching their spouse, some splash their friends, some dive in head first and come out cheering…
