These crazy round boulders are the Moeraki Boulders of New Zealand. Apparently they are sandstone that have been revealed as the sandy shoreline erodes. Personally, I think it’s some kind of magic. I shot these for sunset and returned for sunrise. If I lived near Dunedin, I imagine I’d shoot them over and over. It’s a beautiful and serene area, and it was relaxing to feel the waves and sand beneath my toes as I waded into the ocean to take this photo.
