Here are three different crops of the same image of downtown Minneapolis and the Third Ave Bridge at sunset. The full resolution image is actually a panorama made of eight 36 megapixel images from the Nikon D800, which gives the final image 190 million pixels. The detail out of this camera is stunning. I could enlarge that bottom image up to 15 feet wide, and it would still look very nice up close (I’ve enlarged a 12 mega-pixel image to 17 feet wide before, so I’d say this one could easily cover a wall). I included a 100% crop of the 225 S. Sixth building below to show the detail.
