How to Un-install Photoshop Panels

UXP panels (those found under the Plugins menu in Photoshop, such as Lumenzia v10 and Web Sharp Pro)

Removal of UXP panels is handled through the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop (CCD, this is same installer used to update Photoshop CC).

  • To uninstall: click Plugins / Manage Plugins in Photoshop to open CCD.
  • Locate the panel and click the ellipse (...) icon and then uninstall.

Caution: Uninstalling may delete all panel-specific data (such as preferences for that panel) without warning. If you are using Web Sharp Pro, click Tutorials and see the instructions for backing up if you wish to preserve your data when uninstalling.

CEP panels (those found under the Window / Extensions menu in Photoshop, such as Lumenzia v9 and older)

You may use any one of these following methods:

  • Download the JSXBIN uninstall script and run it by going to File/Scripts/Browse in Photoshop. If you are on an older version of Photoshop, be sure to change the file filter in Photoshop to show JSXBIN files. This will offer options to remove panels from Greg Benz.
  • Run the JSXBIN installer that comes with Lumenzia and choose "show panel folder". This will open a new window where extension panels are installed for that version of Photoshop. Just delete the com._____.ext folders relevant to the panel you wish to remove. You may simply move them to another location if you want the ability restore later. Panels are removed from Photoshop if they are not in the proper folder.
  • If you are on CS6 and installed via Adobe Extension Manager CS6, just open Extension Manager and uncheck or choose remove. (this is rare)
  • If you installed a panel originally via Adobe Exchange, please go to "My Addons" page on their website and remove the panel there. (this may apply to my free luminosity masking panel v1.x for CEP)
  • Navigate to the appropriate folder below, and delete or move the folder for any panel you wish to uninstall. Note that you may simply move the panel to another location to safely uninstall it while preserving the option to restore it later.

OSX (Open Go/Go To Folder in Finder and you can paste in these destinations):

  • Photoshop CS6: /Applications/Adobe PhotoshopCS6/Plug-ins/Panels/
  • Photoshop CC: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions/
  • Photoshop CC 2014 or later: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

Windows: (note that these are hidden folders on Windows, so best to copy and paste the destination into the top of the file browser)

  • Photoshop CS6: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CS6ServiceManager\extensions\
  • Photoshop CC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEPServiceManager4\extensions\
  • Photoshop CC 2014 or later: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\
